Terms of Service
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using kbdt.dev ("kbdt", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
kbdt is a keyboard-first, offline-first task management application. It allows users to create, organize, and manage tasks using nested outlines. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
Accounts
To access certain features (such as cloud sync), you must create an account using a supported authentication provider. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service (except as permitted by applicable law)
- Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by kbdt and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of any content (tasks, notes, outlines) you create using the Service.
kbdt is open source. The source code is available under its respective license. These Terms govern your use of the hosted Service, not the source code.
Data & Privacy
Your use of kbdt is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in that policy.
Your task data stored locally on your device is entirely under your control. Cloud-synced data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.
Because kbdt is offline-first, your locally stored data remains accessible regardless of service availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, kbdt and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless kbdt and its contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may be communicated through the Service. Continued use of kbdt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
